What are the requirements for artwork? What does camera ready mean?
We can accept vector based source files ( .ai, .eps, .pdf) or 300dpi Photoshop files sized to print. Camera ready art is ready to be color separated and put on film with no changes. Art that is not camera ready, or needs modification, maybe be subject to art prep fees of $65 per hour. Please save all fonts as outlines. If you have color separations, we can look at them, but may prefer to make our own seps for our print processes. We can always speak with your designer to make sure we get the files we need to make your shirt project come out tip top.
What is plastisol ink? What is discharge ink? What is water-based ink?
Plastisol ink is the industry standard of garment screen printing. It works on all fabrics, is durable and produces nice bright colors. Discharge ink is a water-based product that is best used with 100% cotton garments. Discharge works like a dye, and changes the color of the fabric where it is printed, giving a print that has no feel after washing. Colors with discharge will not be as bright as plastisol inks. Discharge ink is good for printing large print areas, to avoid having a heavy shield of ink against your body. There are limitations to using discharge ink with some art setups. Water-based ink is similar to discharge, although it does not dye or turn the color of the fabric. the best application for water-based ink is with dark colors on light fabrics, although we have options to print light colors and white. Water-based inks are very soft to the touch as well.
What is the order process?
We start by defining what you need as a customer. Design, garment style, quantity and size breakdown, ink option, and time frame are the key points. We can help with any part of the process you may not be sure of.
What is the turnaround time?
We like to turn things around in 10 business days, although we have the capability to meet tighter deadlines depending on our production schedule. The years we spent working with touring bands has prepared us for all types of deadlines.

How will I receive my goods?
We ship via UPS We also have shop pick up and delivery options.
Can I see a sample? Is there a fee for sampling?
We include a digital mock up with every estimate to be confirmed before going to production. The mock up is a digital representation and not the actual printed garment. This mock up shows the garment color and style, as well as approximate print size, location and number of colors per imprint. Any art and design specifications you may have regarding sizing or placement should be clearly communicated and will be logged in our production notes. With prior arrangement, we can offer a photo sample of the first piece of a production run to confirm as well. With high-volume jobs, a physical sample can be provided at no charge to confirm all details - for both the client and Dogwig. If you require a sample be made on a small production run, the sample print and set up time is charged at $75 per hour plus the cost of any screens and garments.
What is a screen fee?
To make any imprint, we must create a screen with the image that will go on the shirt. A 1-color, 1-sided imprint needs one screen, while a 6-color imprint on both the front and back of a shirt requires 12 screens. Screen fees start at $25, and may be discounted for volume. This does not mean you own the screen. It means you paid to have the screen made. A screen fee is a one time fee for any future orders with the same unaltered design and print placement. If you want us to make and burn a screen that you can have and take home, that is $80. If you provide the screen it is $25 .
